Prelude

It’s no secret that camping can make you hungry! Think about all the hiking, swimming and not to mention setting up! So it's important to have quick and easy recipes ready for you to make – just to keep the campers happy!

Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Start the day with a delicious potato bake with scrambled eggs and bacon, which requires 2 diced potatoes, 4 egg, onions and bacon. Pop everything in a pan on the grill until cooked. Scrambled eggs with bacon is a classic - throw in some chives and tomatoes to make it irresistible!

Another Idea

Another easy 3 ingredient dish for breakfast is a roll-up. Make scrambled eggs and grill sausages, add a bit of cheese and chives for some color and roll them in a tortilla. Grill the cheese until melted and the tortilla is a perfect shade of light brown. Put on your earphones and listen to music to boost your capacity!

Lunch

No camping trip is complete without some quick and easy hotdogs on the grill. Try grilling the hotdogs in a salsa or barbecue sauce, add some chillies for spice and mix it. Butter the buns and then grill them too. Place the mixture in the hotdog and a delicious alternative to the old faithful hotdog is ready to eat!

Nachos for Lunch

Another fun dish you can make is nachos. The beauty of nachos is one of those “what’s in the fridge” kind of meals. It’s a dish you can throw together with a bunch of ingredients. Take grilled chicken, spring onions, chopped onions and jalapenos, a lot of cheese, salsa and guacamole and nacho chips.

One Final Touch on Nachos

Pack everything in layers in a skillet and put it on the grill for about ten minutes or when the cheese is melted. It is a delicious dish and it will definitely cater to even the pickiest eaters!

Dinner

Camping is all about relaxing next to the campfire. Dads can use this to their advantage for dinner and use the grill to make some steaks! Grilling a steak is a uncomplicated way and a very quick dinner. All you need to do is prep the steak with some garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil and you are done.
Sear it on the grill to your desired way of eating it and then you are ready for desert. Add some jacket potatoes or a salad and then you’re ready to feast!
Another easy dish is pizza (on a skillet). Have the ready-made pizza base on standby, add your pizza sauce and whatever toppings you desire, including mozzarella cheese, bacon, avocado, and mushrooms.

Get The Kids Involved Too!

Get the kids involved too by letting them build their own pizza. The prep is about 5 minutes and overall cooking times in a skillet will be around 15 minutes. A quick tip is to put the pizza base on the skillet for a few minutes before adding the toppings, this will ensure the pizza to be crispy and not doughy.

Dessert

No camping trip will be complete without the classic S’mores. Reinvent this classic by putting the chocolate chips and marshmallows in an ice cream cone! Then, place all the ingredients in the sugar cone until it is fully stacked. Wrap the cones in foil and place it on the grill for a few minutes.

Another Yummy Idea

There is nothing better for camping than a grill and a cast iron skillet. Take some pound cake, dice it up with chocolate chips and a mix of fruits like raspberries, strawberries and pineapple. Put everything in the cast iron skillet with some sugar and butter and let it melt. It won’t take you longer than 10 minutes!

Snacks

In between breakfast, lunch, and dinner, one has to snack! The perfect snack besides crisps is corn fritters. It is easy to make and can be made well in advance too. It’s a nice dish for any time of day! Add all your ingredients; cornbread mix, water, canned corn and mix it all together with warm water.

One Last Note

The secret to making these fritters is that the oil needs to be piping hot so rather let the adults do this one and not the kids. It takes about 3 minutes to cook and have a delicious snack! You will be the talk of the camping area with all these quick and easy dishes which caters for anyone. Happy camping!
