Lures reduce deep hooking which is allegedly the leading cause of fish deaths in course of fishing. So, they are preferred over baits when it comes to trout fishing as a hobby, wherein you just catch the fish and release it back in water. More importantly, using these lures also reduces use of live baits, helping maintain a balance in the marine environment.
